It’s Linden’s first love, and he falls hard for Brice, despite Brice’s occasionally aloof and cool behavior. It’s an emotional ride for both of them while Linden takes a crash course in real love and Brice learns to trust in a relationship.

Brice grabbed him by the waist and although Linden fidgeted, he was not nearly strong enough to get away from his grip. He lifted him up onto the countertop and pushed his knees apart. Linden’s jeans had started getting tighter some time ago, but now they were impossibly so. The sure touch of Brice made him gasp and he almost gave up his resolve not to give in to Brice so easily. Almost… He tightened his fingers on Brice’s shoulders and looked straight into his eyes.

“I wonder what the angel will say.”

“Angel? Which angel?” His eyes became wide, “Oh, man, don’t tell me you are one of those religious boys who keep themselves pure for the wedding.”

Despite the heated situation, Linden snorted. “Why, have you desecrated a lot of them?”

He had managed to shock Brice enough for Brice to let him go, so he slipped off the countertop and although he didn’t trust his shaking hands much, he took the cup of coffee to the living room. He placed it on the small glass table and sat on the sofa, pulling his legs under himself. Brice followed him shortly and Linden stole a glance at his jeans. As he thought, Brice was not shocked enough to cool down. He decided it was wiser to look away.

“I haven’t desecrated anyone. If you must know, I’ve never done anything with anyone against their will.”

“I doubt anyone would have much will left after he looks at you, Brice.”

Brice smiled. “Did you just pay me a compliment? That was sweet.”

“Well, I was just stating a fact as I see it.” He worried his lip and finally said, “I was talking about the blond boy I saw you with. He’s just so perfect. That’s why I call him an angel.”

“You mean Kai? Sometimes I wonder if he is one, too, but then again—” Brice laughed shortly and went on. “—he’d be happy to hear what you think of him, though.”

Linden bit his lip and looked away, because it was hard for him to bear the light that came to Brice’s face when he spoke of the blond boy. Kai—even his name was sweet. Brice didn’t answer his question and that probably meant he was trying to dodge it. Of course they were a couple.

“There has never been anything between us apart from friendship, Linden, I swear.”

His head snapped back and he looked at the crystal blue eyes that hypnotized him more and more. Could he believe him? Brice sat near him on the sofa without asking for permission, which, actually he didn’t need to do, being in his own living room and continued looking at him as if… as if he was the only boy in the world for him. The butterflies in his stomach reminded him about their existence, and shivers like restless wings fluttered over his skin.

“Okay.”

This was as much as he managed to say without his voice failing him and it came out colder than he meant it to be.

“I’m having a hard time convincing you of anything I say, aren’t I?”
